On Thursday November 26, 2015 members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit became involved in an investigation regarding a 26 year old Sarnia male. The male was suspected to be involved in trafficking large amounts of Crystal Methamphetamine in the Sarnia area and in possession of a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine.
Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit observed the male riding his bike returning to his residence. He was observed to be carrying his black back pack.
The male was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine. During a subsequent search of the male and his backpack, 38.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine was located along with a quantity of cash and drug paraphernalia. Also located during the search were a replica firearm and a flick knife.
Police applied for and were granted a search warrant authorizing a search of the male’s residence. During that search a stolen passport was recovered.
Further investigation revealed that the male was breaching bail conditions relating to possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The male is being held in custody pending a bail hearing for the following counts: possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine, 4 counts of breach of recognizance and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon for the flick knife as well as one charge of possession of stolen property under $5,000.00 for the stolen passport.
