Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations Branch has made an arrest related to a recent daytime break in.
The incident occurred Thursday May 14, 2015 around 11:30 a.m. on Southern Avenue in the city. Entry was gained by prying open a window in a side door. A black safe containing a large amount of older currency and coins was taken along with personal documents.
On June 3, 2015 Sarnia Police Service Detectives arrested a 23 year old female at her residence in London. A warrant to search her residence was obtained and during the search officers recovered some of the property reported stolen during the break in. Officers also located a stun gun, pepperspray, a butterfly knife and small quantities of various drugs.
Amanda Grace DeLong is facing charges including break and enter, 2 counts of stolen property, 3 counts possession of a controlled substance and 4 counts of weapons possession.
