The Sarnia Police Service held the 10th Annual Shred It Event on Saturday April 25, 2015 and considers it a huge success.
During this year’s event 228 people attended and dropped off 8,844 pounds of documents to be shredded. Over the past ten years 1778 people have taken advantage of this event and 64,646 pounds of documents have been shredded.
This annual event assists in reducing fraud and identity theft crimes in our community. The Service would also like to thank our community partners; the Shred It Company and Walmart who help make this event possible.
This year volunteers collected donations towards the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. People attending the Shred It Event graciously donated a total of $702.00 to assist with the 2015 games. This year the charity Torch Run in Sarnia will take place on Tuesday May 12, 2015.
