The Sarnia Police Service Traffic Branch has completed the investigation involving the truck and cyclist collision that occurred on Monday 30, March 2015. The incident took place at Mitton and Wellington Street during the lunch hour causing road closures for a short time. The cyclist was taken to Bluewater Health for non-life threatening injuries. The Traffic Branch was able to interview several witnesses who remained at the scene and were of great assistance during the investigation.
The 21 year old female driver of the truck has been charged with an improper left turn and the 23 year old male cyclist has been charged with riding a bicycle in a crosswalk. Both offences come with a $110.00 fine.
