Sarnia Police COPPS Unit officers arrested two men for a March 4, 2015 robbery this weekend.
The two accused men aged 41 and 24 lured the victim from his residence to a meeting in the area of Devine and Emma Street. Once the 26 year old male victim arrived he noticed that the 41 year old was holding a baseball bat. The victim was then struck with the bat numerous times before he managed to flee. The victim was chased to Stuart Street where he was again assaulted and threatened. The victim handed over cash and a cell phone and the two accused men left the area.
The 24 year old accused was arrested without incident on Friday March 6, 2015 at about 2:00 p.m. and is charged with assault with a weapon and robbery.
The 41 year old accused was arrested on Saturday March 7, 2015 just before 7:00 p.m. and is charged with assault with a weapon,robbery,utter threats to cause bodily harm, resist arrest and breach of probation.
Both accused men are from Sarnia and were held for a bail hearing.
