On January 27, 2015, members of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit entered into a drug investigation regarding the trafficking of Fentanyl and other prescription medications allegedly involving an employee of a local pharmacy.
During the investigation at about 5:00 pm a 41 year old female employee of a local pharmacy was observed entering a motor vehicle parked in the area of the pharmacy. Shortly thereafter the 41 year old female was observed leaving the vehicle. The motor vehicle was then stopped a short time later, with the assistance the Sarnia Police COPPS Unit, a 26 year old female and a 38 year male were arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The officers later returned to the area of the pharmacy and arrested the 41 year old pharmacy assistant at 5:15 pm for trafficking of Fentanyl and Hydromorphine.
The officers were able to seize a large variety of drugs from the persons involved.
The 26 year old female had the following narcotics in her possession:
- 4 – 50 microgram fentanyl patches
- 6 – 30 mg Hydromorphone pills
- 19 – 24 mg Hydromorphone pills
- 13 – 12 mg Hydromorphone pills
- 40 – 8 mg Hydromorphone pills
- 100 – 4 mg Hydromorphone pills
The total street value of the drugs found on the 26 year old female was $4090.00
The 38 year old male had the following narcotics:
- 6 – 50 microgram Fentanyl patches
- 3.5 – 100 microgram Fentanyl patches
- 0.1 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
- 0.5 grams of Marihuana
- 1 butterfly knife
The total street value of the drugs found on the 38 old man was $2617.00
A total of $800.00 in cash was seized on the female believed to be in relation to the drug transaction.
The 26 year old girl was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of trafficking for Fentanyl as well as Hydrmorphone contrary to the Controlled drugs and Substances Act section 5(2) along with three counts of breaching her Probation order.
The 38 year old man was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl as well as 5 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Prohibited weapon for the butterfly knife.
The 41 year female was charged with Trafficking of Fentanyl as well as Hydromorphone.
All three will be held for a bail hearing this morning, January 28, 2015.
