Sarnia Police continue to investigate the threat of a suspicious package at The Research Park located at 1086 Modeland Road.
The facility was evacuated by Sarnia Police officers after information was received Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at about 2:00 p.m. The initial search by Sarnia police officers did not locate any suspicious packages but as an added precaution and to ensure continued public safety the Sarnia Police Emergency Response Team, assisted by the West Region Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) Canine Unit, will continue to investigate the matter. As a reminder to the members of the public, always contact the police when anything suspicious is noticed or suspected but at this time the Sarnia Police Service does not believe that public safety is an issue.
The facility and road access will remained closed to the public until the investigation is complete.
