Sarnia Police responded to two noise complaints on Saturday March 2, 2013. In the first incident, police had to attend twice in a two hour period. They attended the first time shortly after 1 AM. The 19 year old occupant of a house in the 100 block of North East Street was warned about the loud music and informed the man that his numerous guests should leave and the music should be turned down. He was advised about the city by-law and the repercussions should police have to re-attend.
Just after 3 AM, the police were called back to the same residence for the same reason. Four men were observed standing on the front porch talking loudly. They entered the home when the saw the cruisers. Loud music and yelling could be heard coming from inside. The man was reminded of his previous warning and issued a Provincial Offence Notice under the city by-law.
Around 3:30 AM, police attend in the 100 block of east Street South for a loud noise complaint. While taking the information from the complainant, the officer detected loud music coming from another unit in the same building.
The officers proceeded to the basement area and knocked on the apartment door. They were greeted by a 42 year old Sarnia man who was holding a ten pound weight behind his back. The man was questioned about it and then proceeded to be belligerent to the officers. He eventually dropped the weight but continued with his rude behavior, cracking his knuckles and talking about his previous penitentiary term! That did not deter the officers and the Provincial Offence “Notice” was issued.
