A 47 year old Sarnia man is in custody awaiting a bail hearing after he was arrested by Sarnia Police Vice Unit officers on December 19, 2014. His arrest was followed by the execution of a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at his residence in the 200 block of South Mitton Street.
As a result of the arrest and search, police located over 10 grams of cocaine, approximately 17 grams of hashish and .5 grams of cannabis resin. The total street value of the seized drugs is $1160.00.
The male is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis resin and possession of hashish.
Also on December 19, 2014 members of the Vice and COPPS unit conducted a vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 45 year old Sarnia man and a 23 year old Sarnia woman. Their arrest was also followed by the execution of a CDSA search warrant in the 900 Block of Exmouth Street.
As a result of the arrest of the male and female and subsequent search of the residence, the following items were found:
- Concealed knife blades
- A flick knife
- A 12 gauge pump action shot gun hanging from a wall
- Shot gun shells and .22 calibre bullets
- Crack cocaine, total street value of $460
- Cannabis marihuana, street value of $50.00
- A baseball bat with spikes protruding from the thick end, located hidden inside a sectional couch in the living room
The male, currently awaiting a bail hearing, faces a total of nine charges related to the incident which include: possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marihuana, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and carry concealed weapons.
The female, who was released from custody on an officer-in-charge release, has been charged with possession of cocaine.
