Stunt Driving Charges

Sarnia Police have laid charges of Racing and Failing to Remain after a collision investigation.

On Friday October 17, 2014 at around 11:00 am, two males, one 17 year old and one 16 year old, were racing their vehicles along Cardiff Drive near Ascot Circle. The 16 year old lost control of the car he was driving which left the road striking two cement post and a transformer box. The vehicle flipped over then landed on its wheels. The second driver stopped briefly then left the area. The 16 year old was charged with Racing and was issued a Summons to appear in court. He was also issued a seven day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded. There were no injuries to the driver or his passenger.

The 17 year old driver of the car that left the scene was located and issued a Summons for Racing and Failing to Remain.

Stunt Driving can carry stiff penalties, last week three people charged for offences last May in Canatara Park were found guilty in Traffic Court and received fines of $2000.00.
