Impaired By Drug
On Friday July 25, 2014 at about 9:15PM a Sarnia C.O.P.P.S. officer stopped a car on Cameron Street for a traffic violation. During conversation the officer determined the 23 year old male driver was impaired by drug and arrested him. The male was also found to be out on two probation orders and bail. A search located a used syringe and three tablets of hydromorphone. The man faces charges including Drive While Impaired by Drug, three counts of Breaching Probation, two counts Breaching Bail Conditions and one count Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Drive While Suspended, Using Unauthorized License Plates and driving with no insurance. The Sarnia man was held for a bail hearing.
Unruly Young Lady
On Saturday July 26, 2014 at about 2:10AM a Sarnia officer was parked on Front Street near a drinking establishment and noticed a young lady causing a commotion. The officer rolled down his window and was given a one finger wave along with a rather vulgar diatribe. The female appeared very intoxicated and entered the nearby establishment. The officer entered after her and advised her to leave. She refused to leave and had to be escorted out of the bar. She was arrested and taken to the police station where she continued to yell and swear at the officers. She then kicked an officer telling him she would burn down his house and cause physical harm to him. The 24 year old from Sarnia is charged with Causing a Disturbance, Assaulting a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest and two counts of Uttering Threats.
Impaired Driver
On Sunday July 27, 2014 at about 12:35AM Sarnia Police responded to a single vehicle collision in the 1300 block of Blackwell Road. Upon arriving at the collision witnesses told the officer the driver of the vehicle was running down the road away from the collision site. The officer was able to locate the driver and after speaking with him demanded a sample of his breath into a roadside device. The man registered a fail and was taken to the police station to provide a sample where he provided a sample indicating he was over three times the legal limit. Ralph Whitney 56 years old of Sarnia Is charged with Drive With Over 80 MG.
