Bad Day for Shoplifter

A routine shoplifting call ended with 16 charges for a 23 year old Sarnia man.

On Thursday 19, June 2014 a Sarnia police officer responded to a shoplifting call at a business on Quinn Drive. The accused shoplifter was currently on two separate Probation Orders and also out on bail with conditions. Some of the conditions listed on his bail and probation documents included not to have drug paraphernalia and to reside at a certain address. The male was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer arrested the male accused for the theft and searched him. The officer found identification belonging to two other people, some drug paraphernalia and tools consistent with instruments used for the purpose of breaking and entering. A cell phone and tablet were also found and were later determined to have been stolen. He had also moved and was not living at the address listed on his probation and bail documents.

The man has been charged with Theft, Possession of Break-In Tools, 4 counts of Possession of Stolen Property, 6 counts of Breach of Probation and 4 counts of Breach of Bail Conditions.

He was held for a Bail Hearing.
