On Saturday March 30, 2014 at about 4:00PM a 31 year old man along with a 25 year old women were arrested for a theft they had committed earlier that day.
The two had been in a Christina Street business looking at items. The man distracted the store clerk while the female took two hats and left the store without paying. The clerk noticed this and tried to keep the male in the store but was threatened by him and the clerk let him leave. Police were called and an investigation started.
Later that same day a uniform officer was on patrol in the area of Vidal Street and Devine Street. The two parties from the earlier theft were standing outside a business and as the officer drove by them the female blew the officer a kiss. This attracted the officer’s attention, unfortunately for the women the officer recognized her from video surveillance of the earlier theft.
Both parties were arrested. The male faces one count of Theft, Assault and Fail to Comply with Probation. The women faces one count each of Theft and Possession of Stolen Property.
