A 30 year old Sarnia man was arrested Friday night near Ontario and Palmerston Streets around 10:45 PM. An officer on patrol initially spotted a vehicle southbound on Russell Street. The driver was approaching the intersection of Ontario Street and did not signal a left turn. The officer followed the vehicle eastbound on Ontario Street. The vehicle had a left turn signal on as it approached Devine Street, however, the vehicle continued on a straight path without turning.
The officer stopped the car, approached the driver and immediately detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage. A roadside screening device was produced and the man registered a “Fail”. He was arrested and brought to police headquarters. Two samples of his breath produced readings of over 80 mg of alcohol. He was later released on a Promise to Appear, charged with Drive with Over 80 MG. He will make his first court appearance on February 25, 2014.
