On January 15, 2024 at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Sarnia Police Service (SPS) received a call of a suspect in the area of Maxwell Street and Lydia Street, attempting to steal contents from vehicles parked on the street and in the driveways of several residential properties.
The information provided to the SPS was limited and only identified the suspect as male wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack.
Given the time of night, police were unable to confirm with the vehicle owners items that may have been stolen or damage to their vehicles.
The SPS is asking residents in the following area to check their vehicles:
- Maxwell Street
- Lydia Street,
- Gordon Street
- Nelson Street
The SPS is asking that anyone in this area with a home surveillance system to check for video between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14 and 1:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024. If you find images of the suspect committing the thefts and/or mischief please contact the SPS at 519-344-8861 extension 0.
