Sarnia Police Services Board Announce New Deputy Chief

After an extensive search process, the Sarnia Police Services Board is pleased to announce the selection of Inspector Julie Craddock (Halton Regional Police Service) as the Deputy Chief designate for the Sarnia Police Service.

 

In her current role as the Commander of Regional Community Mobilization and Engagement, Inspector Craddock has demonstrated a strong dedication to community safety and well-being, ensuring an effective response to a myriad of complex social issues through meaningful collaboration with community stakeholders, social service agencies, and municipal leaders. She has demonstrated success leading multifaceted organizational redesign, building strong teams through an inclusive leadership style, and creating supportive and respectful work environments through an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens.

 

Inspector Craddock began her career in 1994, as a member of the Ontario Provincial Police and was posted to northern Ontario. She transferred to the Halton Regional Police Service in 1995 where she has encompassed a broad range of operational roles including

Criminal Investigations, Traffic, Recruiting, Community Mobilization and Frontline Operations at rank levels spanning from Constable to Inspector. As the Manager of the Strategic Management Office, Julie has been involved in a number of significant
change initiatives, including the implementation and deployment of in-car cameras systems and automated licence plate technology (ALPR).

Julie recently completed the Canadian Association of Chief’s of Police Executive Global Studies Program and is currently completing a BA in Equity, Diversity and Human Rights.

Julie is active on a number of policing committees at the local, provincial, and national level, including the OACP Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the CACP Policing with Indigenous Peoples Committee and is the Chair of the IAWP Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is actively involved with the local Urban Indigenous Community in Halton.

Julie is a proud member of Beausoleil First Nation, and two of her four children are police officers with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, Canada’s largest Indigenous police service. Her husband is member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
