On December 1, 2022, officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Indian Road and Sycamore Drive at approximately 10:27 AM. Two vehicles were involved in the collision of which one fled the area. Officers immediately attended and located the suspect vehicle travelling eastbound on Sycamore Drive with extensive damage and deployed airbags.
The vehicle was stopped and the officers made an attempt to arrest the driver for failing to remain. As the officer continued to deal with the driver the officer noted that the accused appeared to be under the influence of something. Once the accused was handcuffed he began to become belligerent and also began resisting the officer.
Once the accused was transported to the station the behavior continued to the extent that the accused attempted to strike an officer.
As a result, Cole Douglas Martin, 19 years of age, faces the following charges:
- Refusing to comply with breath demand
- Assault Peace Officer
- Resist Peace Officer
- Disobey stop sign (fail to stop)
- Driving while under suspension
- Failing to remain
Fortunately, the driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries.
