On August 20, 2022, the accused in this matter attempted to be serviced at the Beer Store located on Confederation Street but was refused do to his state of sobriety. As the accused left the store employees immediately contacted the Sarnia Police.
An officer was able to locate the vehicle travelling westbound on Confederation Street swerving within its lane. As a result, a traffic stop was initiated and as the vehicle in question was pulling over it ran into the rear of a parked vehicle causing extensive damage to both cars.
The driver was taken into custody without incident or injury.
The accused submitted to breath tests before a qualified breath technician and as a result it was determined that the accused was over three times the legal limit of 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
As a result of this investigation, the accused, Noah Robert Cattran, 23 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of impaired operation of a conveyance and one count of operate a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeding 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. His first court appearance will be on September 26, 2022, at 9:30 AM, at the Sarnia Lambton Court House located at 700 North Christina Street, Sarnia.
Fortunately, in this matter, no one was injured but one can see the amount of damage a vehicle can cause to property. Please remember not to drink and drive for it is not just property that is put at risk but it could also be a life.
