A 48-year-old male from Sarnia was arrested and charged Sunday afternoon with Impaired Driving.
On August 14th, 2022 at approximately 12:30pm, the accused in this matter drove his vehicle to a drug store in the 500 block of Exmouth Street. While attempting to park his car, he bumped another parked vehicle as he pulled too far ahead through the parking space. A witness contacted Sarnia Police upon observing the driver entering the store and showing signs of impairment. The responding officer located the accused inside the drug store, and after observing signs of alcohol impairment, he was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving. The accused was transported to Sarnia Police Headquarters where he provided breath samples that registered over three times the legal limit.
As a result, Gregory Martin McGill was also charged with Operation of a Conveyance with 80mgs of Alcohol or More in 100ml of Blood. His driver’s licence has been automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was towed and held for one week. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 13th 9:30am.
This marks the 77th impaired driving case this year in Sarnia with a 12% increase from this date in 2021. Please be responsible, plan ahead and never drive impaired.
