On August 8, 2022, at approximately 12:45 AM, two males attended the local marina on Seaway Road, made their way into the water, and swam into the marina to gain access. Once in the marina they used bolt cutters to steal two bicycles that were locked up. They then proceeded to walk out of the marina, via the main access, with the bikes.
Fortunately, the two accused were caught on video surveillance and could also be identified as a result.
Later that same day officers on patrol observed one of the alleged suspects actually on one of the stolen bicycles. The suspect attempted to flee from police but was apprehended after a brief struggle.
On August 9, 2022, officers were able to locate the second suspect in this matter who was taken into custody without incident. The second bicycle was ultimately also recovered.
Both Dustin Anthony Larocque, 28 years of age, of Sarnia, and 32 year old, Daniel Animkee Plain , of Sarnia, both face the charge of theft under $5000 for having stolen the bicycles.
