On Friday, April 1, 2022, a male attended a local shop in the area of Christina Street and Derby Lane. There the accused picked up several items of clothing and food. He then put on the clothing and attended the cash register where he jumped onto the counter and began taking money from the register along with other items. The cashier attended to the register in order to stop the suspect by grabbing his legs while he was on the counter. The suspect began kicking at the employee and pushing her off him which injured her when she fell into shelving and damaged several items. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious.
Once the suspect got free, he fled from the shop heading westbound. The accused then tried to enter an apartment building by forcing his way in but was unsuccessful. He did manage to damage the door he was pulling on. The suspect now continued southbound where he entered the back of a delivery truck and there confronted the delivery person by brandishing a sharp object at the delivery person and demanded money. The victim handed over his wallet.
The suspect now made his way towards George Street where he was located by officers attempting to hop a ten-foot fence. Police immediately ordered the suspect to stop but he continued to hop the fence and head southbound.
Officers continued to follow the accused who was running directly towards another officer. The officer, who was aware that the suspect was in possession of a sharp object, deployed his taser which caused the suspect to fall to the ground. After a brief struggle, the male was handcuffed without further incident.
As a result of this incident, the accused, Terrell Anthony Sullivan, 27 years of age, of Sarnia, faces the following charges:
- Robbery with theft
