At approximately 1:23 AM, on January 23, 2022, an officer, that was conducting general patrol, came across a vehicle that was sitting still in the eastbound curb lane. As the officer turned around to determine if everything was alright the vehicle took off quickly.
The officer immediately activated the emergency lights to his cruiser at which time the vehicle in question pulled into a parking lot on London Line and came to a stop. When the officer approached the vehicle he observed a can of alcoholic beverage sitting inside the console beside the driver.
As the officer continued his investigation and based on the evidence at hand the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
The accused was then transported to the station and supplied samples of breath into an Intoxilyzer instrument that indicated that the accused was over three times the legal limit.
The accused in this matter, Brittany Michelle Leppington, 28 years of age, of Kirkton, Ontario, faces one count of impaired by alcohol and one count of blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
As well, Leppington’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle will be impounded for seven days.
