The Sarnia Police entered into an investigation on January 6, 2022, regarding a robbery that had taken place earlier that day that involved a possible hand gun.

According to the victim (a 37-year-old male), it is alleged that while he was out on Roger Street two individuals, who were known to him, invited the victim inside a residence in the 700 block of Roger Street. Once inside the victim was confronted by two other males who were also present.

Once confronted by these two other individuals, who were also known to the victim, the situation quickly escalated. The victim wanted to leave but was not allowed, instead, one of the suspects struck the victim in the face and two other grabbed onto him. It is then alleged that he was forcibly escorted to the basement of the residence. During this time one of the assailants reached into his jacket accessing an object and threatening to shoot him as the object was pressed against the victim’s side.

Once downstairs, three of the suspects were present and one of the suspects held a large knife demanding drugs, which he did not have. Another suspect removed a wallet, a cell phone, and some other items from the victim. The suspects continued to threaten the victim and the individual that had threatened to shoot the victim actually pulled out what appeared to be a handgun.

Once things calmed down one of the suspects returned the wallet minus any money. The victim continued to comply and was granted permission to leave without any further issue. Fortunately, he did not sustain any sort of significant injury.

As a result of this investigation the following three individuals have since been arrested and charged as follows:

Quentin Abraham Shawnoo, 33 years of age, of Kettle Point, faces one count of forcible confinement, four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and robbery using a firearm.
