Sarnia Police were kept busy over the weekend with a couple of disturbances in the 500 block of Campbell Street. Police arrived just after 1:30 AM and discovered a 19 year old man and his 46 year old father, both from Sarnia, had assaulted a 35 year old man, also from Sarnia. The assault consisted of punching to the head. Before police arrived, it was also learned that the 19 year old man had assaulted two other Sarnia men earlier. A head punch landed on a 20 year old man, an attempted swing at a 34 year old man missed. On December 1 around midnight, two females, both 19 and both from Sarnia, assaulted a 19 year old Sarnia man by punching him in the head and face area and threatened him. This happened at the same address on Campbell Street. Before police arrived, one of the females left the scene. She turned herself in at police headquarters later. These two will face charges of Assault, Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm and Breach of Undertaking.

On December 2, around 12:30 AM, police were called to the 100 block of North Forsyth Street regarding a suspicious male pulling a cart. Police arrived and located the 29 year old man who identified himself. Items in the cart prompted police to detain the man. He was searched and a change purse was found in his pocket. It was placed on the hood of the cruiser. The man suddenly attempted to grab the little purse a run. He was apprehended and handcuffed. The purse was found to contain crystal methamphetamine and a plastic smoking device. The man was found to be on probation with conditions not to possess drugs. He is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and four counts of Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
