Driving Complaint Leads to a Significant Quantity of Drugs Being Located

On September 29, 2021, at approximately 10:50 PM, Sarnia Police received a driving complaint regarding a vehicle in the area of Devine Street and John Street. Police attended the area and were able to locate the vehicle. As the matter was investigated officers located a significant quantity of drugs.

Officers located the following:

–       42.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $3,376.00

–       64.3 grams of suspected fentanyl with a street value of $12,860.00

–       13.5 grams of suspected cocaine with a street value of $1,350.00

–       $975.00 CDN

–       $160.00 USD.

The total street value of the controlled substances is $17,586.00.

As a result of this investigation, the accused, Levi James Hayes, 35 years of age, of Sarnia, faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Levi James Hayes remains in custody pending a bail hearing at a later date.
