Impaired Driver Found to be in Possession of Large Quantity of Drugs

On May 29, 2021, at approximately 11:15 PM, officers from the Sarnia Police Service Community Response Division were dispatched to the area of Indian Road and Exmouth Street regarding a traffic complaint. The report indicated that a vehicle was driving southbound on Indian Road and was swerving all over the road heading into oncoming traffic and striking the curbs.

The vehicle was located in the area of Indian Road and Confederation Street where the lone female occupant, who was also the driver, was present.

The driver presented herself with signs of impairment to the officer and was ultimately arrested. It was also determined that the suspect had a warrant for her arrest for breach of probation and her driver’s licence was suspended due to unpaid fines.

Once the suspect was searched officers located the following drugs:

1) 11.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine

2) 20.6 grams of suspected fentanyl

3) 19 micro-dots of suspect LSD

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $15,000.

The accused in this matter, Lynette Elaine Brennan, 34 years of age, of London, faces one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs, two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of driving while under suspension (Highway Traffic Act of Ontario).

Brennan’s first court date is on July 7, 2021, at 9:00 AM, the Sarnia Lambton Court House located at 700 N. Christina Street, Sarnia Ontario.
