A 44 year old Sarnia man was arrested on Saturday afternoon around 1 PM on LaSalle Road. Initially the officers were responding to an unwanted person call when they spotted the man driving eastbound. The car turned to go northbound on Tashmoo Avenue. The car was stopped and officers spoke to the driver. A strong smell of alcohol could be detected. He was asked to step from his car. He was not wearing any shoes. He was unsteady on his feet. He was arrested.
He was taken to police headquarters. A part bottle of alcohol and an open bottle of beer were observed in his vehicle along with some empty beer cans. His first breath demand produced a reading of over 300 MG of alcohol. The second was slightly less. He was released later on a Promise to Appear and will appear in court on December 3, 2013, facing charges of Impaired Operation and Driver with Over 80 MG.
