On April 6, 2021, members of the Sarnia Police Service Community Patrol and Criminal Investigations Branch attended Victoria Park, which is boarded by Wellington Street and Victoria Street, in the City of Sarnia, regarding damage that had taken place to a War Memorial.
The damage was to the bronze Canadian soldier, known as “Tommy”, located on top of the cenotaph.
Those involved in this crime had managed to pry the rifle from the soldier, which is made of copper.
The Sarnia Police Service is requesting the assistance of anyone with information of who was involved in this act of mischief and theft or of where the rifle maybe.
