A 28 year old male and a 31 year female were recently charged with Operation of a Conveyance with 80mg of Alcohol or More in 100ml of Blood.

On November 26th, 2020 at 2:30am, an officer in the Community Response Division observed a vehicle turn into the Northgate Shopping Plaza after travelling at high rate of speed on Exmouth Street. The vehicle was observed squealing its tires in the parking lot and nearly struck a business in the process. The male driver parked his vehicle and entered a bank before the officer approached the scene. Upon returning to his vehicle, the officer detected an odour of alcohol on this individual and obtained further evidence of recent alcohol consumption by this driver. As result, a breath demand was made which resulted in a “fail” reading. The driver was arrested accordingly and transported to Sarnia Police Headquarters for further breath tests. The results showed his blood alcohol concentration to be more than double the legal limit.

Brandon Leo Moore of Sarnia faces one charge of Operation of a Conveyance with 80mg of Alcohol or More in 100ml of Blood. His Driver’s Licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was towed and held for seven days.

The following day, on November 27th, 2020 shortly after 2am, an officer in the Community Response Division was following a vehicle eastbound on George Street from Vidal Street and observed this vehicle several times swerving over the center line and then nearly hitting curb. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Russell Street and Maria Street where the driver was spoken to. The female driver and passenger in this vehicle were recognized as they had been spoken to just recently by the same officer. This officer offered to help when he observed them walking downtown showing signs of intoxication; although they indicated they were walking home and refused police assistance. The driver continued to display signs of being intoxicated and was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving. She was transported to the Sarnia Police Service where further breath tests were conducted resulting in a blood alcohol concentration that was more than double the legal limit.

Hannah Rose Pyne of Sarnia faces an additional charge of Operation of a Conveyance with 80mg of Alcohol or More in 100ml of Blood. Her Driver’s Licence has been suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was also towed and held for seven days.
