On Sunday, November 22, 2020, shortly after 12:00 PM, Sarnia Police responded to a call involving a robbery that had taken place at a residence in the 800 block of Wellington Street. The victim advised police that an individual broke into his unit and woke him up with a gun pointed to his head asking for certain items. The victim also advised he knew the suspect.
From there the suspect rummaged through the unit, found what he was looking for, and left. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Knowing who the suspect was officers were able to locate him in the 400 block of Kathleen Avenue. The suspect surrendered himself and was taken into custody at approximately 12:50 PM without incident.
Later that day officers executed a warrant on the residence and were able to retrieve a replica pellet handgun.
As a result of this investigation officers have arrested and charged 25-year-old Luis Enrique Hernandez, of Sarnia, with the following:

One count of robbery with a handgun

Pointing a firearm

Break and Enter into a dwelling house
Hernandez remains in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
