Sarnia Police Vice Branch, assisted by members of the Criminal Investigations and COPPS Branches of the Service, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Tunis Avenue last night around 9:30 PM. A 33 year old female was found inside, along with a large aggressive dog. After getting the dog under control and secured, the woman was arrested.

A short time later, a 46 year old man arrived at the home and was promptly arrested. Both parties lived at the house. They were transported to police headquarters. During the search, crystal methamphetamine was found. After some further investigation, it was learned that the male party had been released from court on September 18 on a recognizance of bail. Conditions of that release were that he not possess or use drugs. He will face two charges of breaching that recognizance and one charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. He will go for a bail hearing this morning.

The female was later released on a Promise to Appear, charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

This is not the first time police have been to this particular address. A pro-active policing approach had been taken in regards to a problem. Preventative measures were made and a partnership established which resulted in the execution of this particular search warrant.
