Sarnia Police Vice Unit Continue With Their Efforts

Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit have been investigating an individual believed to be trafficking large quantities of fentanyl.

On September 10, 2020, at approximately 9:15 PM, Vice officers were conducting surveillance on a unit in question which was located in the 800 block of Wellington Road. At this time the suspect was observed leaving the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Upon searching the suspect, a large quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine was located on his person. The suspect, Joseph Austin Boose, 22 years of age, of Sarnia, was taken into custody.

Shortly thereafter Vice officers executed a search warrant at the Wellington Road address where three other individuals were arrested.

During the search of the residence officers located further drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen bicycle.

In total officers seized 71.96 grams of Fentanyl with a street value of $35, 980 and 23.73 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $2373.

Boose was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime (the bicycle). Boose was held for a bail hearing.

The three other individuals were charged with possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime (the bicycle) and were subsequently released on an undertaking.
