A Sarnia police officer conducted a traffic stop on a car in the 400 block of Davis Street last night around 11:15 PM. Two females occupied the car. The driver was 24 and the passenger was 30. Both women were from Sarnia. The passenger appeared to be fidgeting with a bag that was at her feet inside the car. She was asked to step from the vehicle.
The woman was displaying actions that are consistent with drug abuse. She was holding something in her hand. When the officer questioned her about it, she attempted to run away. She was stopped and she threw the items from her hand onto the ground. They were three little bags found to contain what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine. She was arrested. She was found to be on a Recognizance with conditions not to be in possession of drugs.
Also found in her possession was codeine and oxycodone tablets and two small digital scales. She faces three charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Recognizance. She was held for a bail hearing.
