On June 24, 2020, at approximately 9:25 PM officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Brock Street South in regards to a female having pointed a handgun at the victim. According to information received the suspect had pointed the firearm at the victim and threatened to harm him in relation to how the victim was driving.
The suspect was located a short distance away by an officer and taken into custody without incident. Officers located a black replica revolver-style CO2 handgun that the suspect had concealed in the back of her pants.
The accused, Leeann Lynn Martel, 44 years of age, of Sarnia, faces the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
Martel remains in custody pending a bail hearing. Please find a photo of the replica handgun below.
