On May 27, 2020, members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit were granted a warrant to search a hotel room located on Venetian Boulevard, in Point Edward.
As officers prepared to execute the warrant they observed a suspect involved in the investigation conduct a drug deal out in front of the hotel. At approximately 8:00 PM officers arrested the male and located illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on the suspect.
At approximately 8:10 PM officers made entry into the hotel room and a female was located in the room and also arrested.
The officers recovered further drugs and related paraphernalia in the room.
Officers seized the following:
Cocaine: .26 grams
Crystal Methamphetamine: 85.6 grams (street value $6848.00)
Fentanyl: 10 grams (street value $5000.00)
Oxycodone 5mg: 54 tabs (street value $1080.00)
Total Street Value: $12,928.00
Richard William Emery, 39 years of age, of Sarnia, faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Caylie Rhianno White, 37 years of age, of Petrolia, faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of failing to comply with a release order.
Both remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
The Sarnia Police Service realizes that it is a difficult to absolutely eradicate all drugs from our community but please understand that our efforts will not cease.
