Sarnia Police have charged a 36 year old male from Port Franks with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
Shortly after 5pm on April 27th, 2020, a Traffic Division Officer conducted a vehicle stop on Roger Street after observing a moving violation. The accused in this case was the passenger in this vehicle, and after identifying himself, the officer confirmed there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Breach of Probation. He was then placed under arrest accordingly.
The accused was in possession of a backpack that was later searched. As result, police located a functioning hand held Taser (pictured below) which is a prohibited weapon in Canada.
In addition to Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Jeffrey Robert Minzen was also charged with Breach of Probation. He was later released on an Officer in Charge Undertaking.
