Members of the Sarnia Police Service were made aware of suspicious activity involving an employee working at the Sarnia jail who was believed to be concealing contraband in the food being served to prisoners. This contraband could be anything from tobacco to fentanyl.

Jail staff supervisors have been using surveillance and the physical inspection of food to confirm that indeed that this was happening and were able to confirm who the suspect employee was. With the assistance of vice officers, it was determined that in the latest incident the suspect was smuggling in tobacco for the prisoners.

On March 30, 2020, members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit attended the Sarnia Jail and arrested the accused in this matter as she was walking into work.

Megan Deanna McIsaac, 25 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of breach of trust by a public officer.
