On March 8, 2020, at approximately 12:30 PM members of the Sarnia Police Service General Patrol responded to a robbery that had taken place at a convenience store located within the plaza at Finch Drive and Wellington Street. The suspect was brandishing a knife as he robbed the store of money and cigarettes.
The suspect was last seen running northbound from the convenience store across Wellington Street and up Finch Drive where he turned eastbound into a walkway in the area. Attempts were made by police to locate the suspect but to no success.
Officers were able to use video surveillance to identify the suspect.
The suspect, Wren William Woodworth, 27 years of age, of Sarnia, was arrested at approximately 12:20 PM, on this date, at a residence in College Park.
Woodworth will be held pending a bail hearing for the charge of robbery with a weapon.
No one was injured during the robbery.
