Traffic Enforcement Scam

Broadcast time: 9:25 AM

Date: March 6, 2020

Here is an example of another scam that exists.

Someone, locally, received an email indicating that they were travelling over twice the legal speed and were caught on a stationary traffic camera.

As you can see below a great deal of information is lacking, such as a license plate number, location, actual speed, etc.

These sorts of violations would not be issued in this manner. Nor is there a 10% a day penalty added “daily”.

When receiving something of this nature take the time to look into it. Fortunately, the person who received this scam did look into it and did not lose any money.

Do not make contact via the links located within the email but rather look up the agency that supposedly sent you the information via internet or phone book.
