Accused That Has Been Awaiting Sentencing Has Been Arrested

On December 20, 2019, Damien Richard Allison-Harding, 27 years of age, of Sarnia, failed to attend court as part of an ongoing court case and was on a Recognizance issued by the court.

Allison-Harding was to be sentenced on the December 20, 2019, in relation to a stabbing he was accused of committing on November 9, 2017. It was alleged that at approximately 2:00 AM, on November 9, 2017, Allison-Harding was at the old 7 Eleven that was located at the corner of Mitton Street and Wellington Road. The accused and the victim had an exchange of words inside the store and then exited the store where the confrontation continued. It is then alleged that Allison-Harding pulled out a large knife and stabbed the victim leaving him in a critical state that required extensive medical care.

The accused had been evading the courts and the police since December 20, 2019. The accused was located and arrested in Montreal, Quebec, by the Montreal Police Service. On February 11, 2020, detectives from the Sarnia Police Service attended Montreal and arrested the accused on outstanding warrants stemming from his previous court matter along with new charges.

The warrant for the new charges relate to incidents that occurred in 2019 and further back and allege that Allison-Harding committed various acts of sexual assault, assault.

Allison-Harding has returned to Sarnia and remains in custody.
