More Drugs Off Our Streets

First Incident:

The Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit hsd been investigating a male who was trafficking quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl from an address in the 100 block of Alfred Street.

Vice officers requested and were granted a warrant to search the residence on Alfred Street and at 7:40 PM, on January 14, 2019, members of Vice and General Patrol made entry into the residence where a number of individuals were taken into custody.

As a result of the search officers located the following drugs:

1.     50.6 grams of powdered fentanyl with a street value of $25,300.00

2.     206.2 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $20,610.00

3.     29.88 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2,988.00

4.     Thirteen 6 mg hydromorphone contin pills with a street value of $195.00

5.     Fifty-seven 18 mg hydromorphone contin pills with a street value of $1,410.00

The total value of street drugs seized is approximately $50,503.00. The total currency seized was approximately $2200.00

Also located and seized in the residence was a functioning taser and a shot gun.

The following individuals have been charged accordingly:

1. Leslie William Hawkins, 42 years of age, of Sarnia, is charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a dangerous weapon, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of breach of probation. Held for bail.
2. Jessica Lauren Walker, 30 years of age, of Sarnia, is charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a dangerous weapon, and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon. Walker was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft under $5000. Held for bail.
3. Joseph Marcelino Ayala, 31 years of age, of Sarnia, is charged with one count of failing to comply with recognizance. Held for bail.
4. Istvan G. Nemeth, 59 years of age, of Sarnia, one count unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Second Incident:

General Patrol officers responded to a disturbance call at approximately 9:15 PM in the parking lot of an address in the 900 block of Confederation Street. Upon arrival officers observed a male being contained by people. The suspect was intoxicated and had gained access to a vehicle that was in the parking lot and that he was rummaging through.

Officers attempted to speak to the suspect but he refused to identify himself. The suspect was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to the Sarnia Police Station.

Once the suspect was searched officers located the following:

1. 2.85 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $285.00
2. 19.52 grams of purple fentanyl with a street value of $5250.00
3. 24.73 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2400.00

The total value of drugs seized was $7935.00,

Moelijah Isaiha Sharpe, 22 years of age, of Toronto, has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of mischief under of $5000.00. He was held for a bail hearing.
