On September 6, 2019, at approximately 11:30 pm, Sarnia Police responded to a complaint in Brights Grove of a male being assaulted by another male. The complainant alleges that the suspect followed him home and initially confronted him verbally regarding his driving. According to the complainant the verbal exchange escalated to a physical altercation. During the incident the victim stated that the suspect made reference to being an off duty officer.
The Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch conducted an investigation and earlier this morning the suspect turned himself to be formerly charged.
The suspect in this matter, Christopher Moxley, 57 years of age, is a retired officer from the Sarnia Police Service. He has been charged with assault and personating a peace officer. His first court date will be on October 15, 2019.
