On July 8, 2019, at approximately 5:00 am, a resident in the 200 block of North Brock Street observed a male attempting to gain entry into his vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The homeowner gave chase after the person but was unable to locate the suspect. Upon returning to the residence the home owner was approached by a man that was alleged to be the lookout for the suspect who got away.
This man was carrying a meat cleaver and holding it over his head approaching the resident in a threatening manner. Fortunately, a neighbour witnessed what was going on and called the police. Upon arrival and investigating the matter further police arrested the suspect with the cleaver.
Daniel Vaughan Nahmabin, 56 years of age, of Sarnia, faces one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for a bail hearing.
