Over the course of the long-weekend, the Sarnia Police Service was kept very busy responding to approximately 340 calls for service. Some of these calls included:
6 – 911 Hang-ups
18 – Alarms
7 – Ambulance Assists
7 – Break and Enter Reports
14 – Domestic Disputes
17 – Liquor License Act
12 – Motor Vehicle Collisions
2 – Neighbour Disputes
14 – Noise Complaints
27 – Person Welfare Checks
4 – Thefts
20 – Unwanted Persons
Officers issued 22 Provincial Offence Notices (tickets) over the long weekend for various infractions, 5 of which were for Careless Driving.
During Canada Day at Canatara Park and throughout the evening at Centennial Park, officers were kept busy with numerous liquor infractions. The majority of these offences consisted of open alcohol and underage drinking. There were no arrests made at Canatara Park although 3 arrests were made at Centennial Park. These included 2 adult males for Being Intoxicated in Public, and an adult female for a Breach of the Peace.
