Three men robbed and beat a 36 year old Sarnia man on July 15 at a home in the 200 block of Maxwell Street. The man had been riding his bike on Indian Road near Wellington Street when one of the assailants called him over and invited him to a home on Maxwell Street. The victim rode to that location where he saw three other men and four women. One of these other men was Quentin Shawnoo, who was on the Fugitive Five list.

About 20 minutes later, two other men arrived. The four females and two of the men left the Maxwell Street address, leaving the three accused and the victim. A short time later, the victim was punched in the jaw by Shawnoo. The two other men joined in and the victim was beaten with a stick and kicked repeatedly about his body and head. One man stomped on his head. He received a large gash on his head from the stick object and he began to bleed profusely. The men were yelling “kill him, kill him”.

The beating stopped and the victim was told to empty his pockets. He put a wallet, cell phone and cigarettes on the table. He was instructed to clean himself up. When he went to do this, his was struck in the mouth by one of the men. He retrieved his belongings but about $100 was missing. He was also told if he called police, he would be stabbed and his family killed.

The following day, the victim attended hospital to get his wounds treated. He received several lacerations to his head and deep bruising throughout his body. On July 17, the victim limped into Sarnia Police headquarters to report the assault. On July 19 just around 2:10 PM, one the accused, Anthony Maurice George of Sarnia was arrested near the Maxwell Street address. Just before 4 PM, a search warrant was executed at that residence. At approximately 8:55 PM, Shawnoo was arrested there.

A warrant for arrest is being requested for a 21 year old man. They will all face charges of Aggravated Assault, Utter Threats to Cause Death and Robbery. Shawnoo has additional charges of Breach of Probation x 3.
