The Sarnia Primary Control Group along with Aamjiwnaang First Nation have assembled to monitor the situation at Imperial Oil and ensure public safety.
At this time information received from Imperial Oil advises that a tower has collapsed within the plant along the west side of Vidal Street South and that there is no emergency offsite impact. There will be increased controlled flaring from the site at this time.
Road closure in the area is as a precautionary measure.
We will continue to update the public as more information arises.
