As of yesterday afternoon, January 9, 2019, the Sarnia Police Service has been receiving concerned calls from citizens regarding a Facebook posting pertaining to an attempted purse snatching from an unknown complainant.
According to the posting a female was sitting in her vehicle when she was approached by a male asking if she was a certain person. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a local grocery store. According to the post another male approached from the passenger side and attempted to open the door to take the purse. The driver began to sound her vehicle’s horn at which point the men ran to their vehicle which was described as a white Corolla and drove away.
At this time the Sarnia Police Service has made initial contact with the possible victim in this incident and will be speaking to her to determine what exactly happened.
The Sarnia Police is reaching out to individuals who may have witnessed this matter or actually experienced this sort of event in last several days.
