On November 18, 2018, a number of plaques were removed from a memorial in Centennial Park. The plaques were pried from their concrete base.
On December 13, 2018, a Good Samaritan turned in a number of the stolen plaques to the Sarnia Police Service. The returned plaques are not suitable for display again.
To date, no charges have been laid. The investigation into the theft is continuing.
