Broadcast time: 5:00 pm

Date: 23 November, 2018

In the early morning hours of November 23, 2018, the Sarnia Police Service received a call from an alarm monitoring company who was watching a live feed of a break-and-enter in progress on Conestoga Drive.

Police officers arrived on scene and observed the suspect inside the fenced compound. When the suspect was alerted to police presence, he ran, fast.

After a direct and exact dog track utilizing the OPP Canine Unit and strategically placed containment officers, the suspect was located over 1 kilometer from the scene. He was attempting to hide in a thicket in a field; however, his scent led police right to hiding place. He could run, but he couldn’t hide.

Police have arrested a 30 year old male and charged him with break-and-enter, mischief to property and possession of break in tools. He was scheduled to appear in bail court earlier today.
