Pedestrian Struck on Exmouth Street

A four year girl and her mother were struck by a vehicle today while crossing Exmouth Street.

On October 1, 2018 at approximately 8:30am, the mother and daughter from Sarnia were crossing Exmouth Street at the signaled pedestrian crosswalk near Trillium Park when a westbound vehicle failed stop at the crosswalk. As a result, the vehicle struck both pedestrians causing significant injuries to the young girl. The four year old has been transported to London in serious, but stable condition. The mother was transported to hospital where she was treated and released with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and the scene on Exmouth Street is expected to re-open in the next hour. Exmouth Street is currently closed between Melrose Avenue and Copland Street.
